The Hills ARE Alive...Oh Wait, I'm Just Tripping...

Hm, just finished reading this blog “Adventures In Daytripping “(http://adventuresindaytripping.blogspot.com) and boy does it remind me of Dharamshala and that trip I made with the people at Hindu….that and one other rafting trip I did with a few friends a few summers ago to Rishikesh…I think more than the dang rafting it was chilling out.

I remember we played dumb charades (SG who I have known since the 3rd grade, AS who is my best friend, AN who was the first girl I fell in love with and SA) and AS and I were piss-ass drunk, having finished a bottle of Bacardi and we were killing the other three who were disapproving of our incessant boozing and more so because they were really losing.

AS and I went upstairs to get more booze and we thought of “Romancing thee Stone “ as the next movie to give them and we were cackling away. Drinks in hand, we went down the stairs and look each other blank eely going, “whhh, what was the movie again?” I don’t know why that tears me up but it was hilarious and its one of those memories that gives you that delicious smile on your lips. It was just perfect.

I guess its more the memories than the incident…of being with friends, everything uncomplicated and so much simpler, having a bit of stability in my life and knowing what I would be doing at least for the next few years.

And then I remember we played monopoly and AS and I were teaming up and at some point the blood bath was so bad that we bought SG from AB and SA for play money making him our bitch for the rest of the game…it was so funny when AS and I suggested it, the two girls look at each other and go OK at the same time and SG thinking it was inconceivable squawking “no way!” Course, we bought him and he made us drinks for the rest of the night.

I also remember waking up early and going with SA for a walk post rains…and I remember we snuck into this deserted temple courtyard facing the hills, the wet-earth smell, air which was so clean it almost had that sweet smell to it.

Hm…almost fees like a beautiful song

Oh and here’s a free plug -- http://www.bernardosatgurgaon.com/location.htm

Love goan food.

Oh and I also ‘stole’ this from the Daytrippers blog…I know its stupid and I know its not the witticism expected but it always makes me chuckle for some reason:

Mary had a little skirt
with splits right up the sides,
and every time that Mary walked
the boys could see her thighs.
Mary had another skirt
twas split right up the front,...
but she didn't wear that one very often.

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet,
her clothes all tattered and torn.
It wasn't the spider that crept beside her,
but Little Boy Blue and his horn.

Simple Simon met a pieman, going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the pieman,
"What have you got there?"
Said the pieman unto Simon,"Pies, you dickhead."

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Said, "Fuck him, he's just an egg.

Mary had a little lamb.
It ran into a pylon.
10,000 volts went up its ass
and turned its wool to nylon

Georgie Porgy pudding 'n pie,
kissed the girls and made them cry.
When the boys came out to play,
he kissed them too, 'cause he was gay
